To support and further develop the BAANG project, a follow-up project called “CEDAR – Career Enhancement and Development for Aerospace and renewables” was submitted to the Horizon Europe, ERA Talents call in September 2024. In addition to the current academic partners, the University of Ljubljana and five other non-academic partners, such as the Royal NLR Research Centre from the Netherlands, LUXNER Engineering from Austria, Litostroj power from Slovenia, Litostroj Engineering and Evektor spol. s.r.o. from the Czech Republic, create the consortium in the newly submitted project.
The overall objective of CEDAR project, it to focus on boosting the interoperability of the careers of young researchers in mechanical engineering with practical experience in a specific company and support them in developing their inter-sectoral and cross-sectoral skills with an accent on sustainability and optimization.
CEDAR builds systematic collaboration between academic and non-academic institutions, supports young scientists in their scientific careers and creates a unique multidisciplinary approach through case studies. The case studies will focus on the design of sustainable solutions of advanced industrial applications. Technologies developed for the aerospace industry, particularly in the areas of aerodynamics, materials and simulation, can often be applied to hydropower and vice versa.
Sustainability and optimization are a common element of the solutions planned for the case studies.
