This year’s PhD day, organized by the Student Chamber of the Academic Senate of the BUT, was enriched by the cooperation with the BAANG project. Participants could also listen to Dr. Langhammer’s lecture “Gender and scientific outcomes”.
The event took place on 30 October in the auditorium of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Brno University of Technology. The participants received a presentation on gender in English. In addition, the BAANG project also presented a poster at the event.
The PhD day for current PhD students aims to connect students enrolled in a doctoral degree programes across the faculties of the BUT. The programme includes informative and interactive sessions, e.g. on the status of PhD students in society, how to combine study and family life, and the range of development courses, support, sports and grant opportunities on offer at the BUT.
In addition to the official programme, the focus is on motivating existing young scientists to stay and develop their scientific career. The event is also open to those who are just thinking about studying for a PhD and want to learn more.
